The Create Magazine interviews VillageOneArt collaborative artist Emma Hapner about her figurative paintings from a female perspective.

CM: When did you first begin creating art?

EH: I feel like I’ve always been creating, my earliest memories of art were of using one of those step-by-step drawing books to draw a ballerina.

CM: Where would you like to see your artwork go in the future?

EH: I really hope to continue to make art about women, femininity, and all of the experiences that surround that. I want to keep making paintings about it until I have a large body of work that really tells a story.
