Artist Interview Tong Wang

Tong Wang‘s creative journey stems from her childhood experiences, as she has always been a sensitive individual. She harbors a deep curiosity for the divine and supernatural phenomena in her surroundings. While her temperament has been tinged with pessimism and melancholy since childhood, there’s a glimmer of romanticism within her soul. These elements have collectively shaped her artistic style, infusing it with self-conflict and a sense of fragmentation, intertwined with glimpses of romance.

Since childhood, Tong has been studying dance, using body language to convey emotions, which became the foundation of her artistic journey. Subsequently, she explored various mediums for creation. She firmly believes that, despite the world’s uncertainty and contradictions, we can still find positive thinking and hopeful power within it. While she harbors a pessimistic attitude towards reality, she aspires to express a positive mindset through her works, inspiring the audience to reflect on their inner thoughts and embark on self-exploration.
