Artist Interview Nianxin Li

Nianxin Li‘s work stems from a sense of disconnection between the purpose and methods of her early education and family life. She explores the idea of various elements coexisting in the same space, whether actively interacting or passively present, while questioning the traditional emphasis on family relationships. 

Much of this exploration is driven by her personal journey through understanding gender roles and societal expectations within her family. For Nianxin, emotional boundaries and connections take on abstract forms, often masked or softened by vibrant colors. By revisiting her upbringing through art, she expresses these experiences through colors that evoke a sense of intimacy and love.
