Inga Khurieva paints life and whatever comes with it. Her wonderful, sometimes painful, sometimes grand human experience is smeared on the canvas to bring her joy and fulfillment. She transforms, she alchemizes, she heals, she connects to the world, having a dialogue with people through her art. She explores complex emotional and social themes; she criticizes, she adores, she puts things on a pedestal, she destroys, she kills, she sacrifices, she makes love to the energy that rushes through her and onto the canvas or into a sculpture. So many “I”s become “She”s. She is a medium, she is a channeler. This description, however, doesn’t come from a narcissistic, self-absorbed point of view but from long observation and deep understanding of self and one’s nature. With that understanding of self comes an understanding of others. She is here to challenge perception and provoke a deeper contemplation of reality’s layers. Through the visual narrative, she invites viewers to traverse their inner landscapes, confront hidden emotions, and revel in the beauty of the absurdities that life offers.
Khurieva began painting in 2016. In 2024, VillageOneArt presented Divine Observation, a solo exhibition of new paintings drawing on pop culture, religious, and historic imagery through Neo-Surrealist dreamscapes. Her first solo presentation with the gallery, Dream Worlds, was held in 2022.
