Meer Media reported on an exhibition of the works of VillageOneArt collaborative artist Maxwell Stevens.

Maxwell Stevens has been painting professionally for over twenty years, and has been looking at intimate Vermeer like close quarters for the last ten. Maxwell’s insistence on the direct experience of vibrant color, variability of handheld brushstroke, surface play, and texture, albeit to an exaggerated degree and without conveying any recognizably associated image.

The exhibition, titled “Spring Essence,” features Stevens’ paintings and emphasizes the depth of detail and history in his work, showcasing the rigor of traditional art and the innovation of postmodern art. The surface of the artwork is both a portal to the depths of the piece and a gateway between interior and exterior spaces.

The exhibition’s main works are a series of scenes depicting marital consolation, revealing the tragedies, sorrows, and uncertainties of life, and the power of art in exploring these emotions. The article also mentions the comforting artistic style that encompasses the artist’s internal dialogue and exploration of meaning, as well as abstract expressions that transcend the three dimensions.
