Kelly Wang
Lives and works in New York, NY
Kelly Wang is an artist working across ink, paper, and mixed media, often extending traditional Chinese painting materials — xuan paper, ink, and pigment — into sculptural and dimensional forms, as in works combining cloud dragon paper, aluminum, resin, and stainless steel fiber. She holds an MA in Art History, with a focus on Chinese painting, from Columbia University, and a BA in Art History from Hunter College, City University of New York.
At VillageOneArt, Wang presented the solo exhibition Dialectics of Abstraction in 2021, and has since been included in the group exhibitions Surface Visions (2019) and In the Mood For Love (2023), most recently appearing in In the Mood For Love (2024) with the work Cloud Dragon 8.
