Artist Interview Xinyu Wo

In Xinyu Wo‘s work, she transforms the absurd and chaotic into an aesthetic. Surrealism is her main visual language, as purely realistic techniques only replicate what we see without enhancing the viewer’s experience. 

By shifting compositions away from reality, she creates illogical, surreal images. While most viewers seek control in life, she offers them a glimpse of the “out-of-control.” 

In Xinyu’s images, the color palette of Impressionism has played a significant role for her. She hopes the colors in her work achieve a harmonious comfort. When selecting elements, she chooses those that resonate with a wide audience, then “processes” their forms to reveal a different mode of expression.
