Chukwuemeka Anthony Chukwu (Emeka.CkA)
Lives and works in New York

Chukwuemeka Anthony Chukwu (b. 1998, Nigeria) continuously bridges disciplines drawn from his upbringing and his critical interests in gaming, technology, culture, and architecture. He primarily paints and makes a selective addition of complementary media like tape and collage, with moments of them applied to 3D elements; at times he does a bit of storytelling of small experiences. His work may be charged with, and spark discussions surrounding, race, housing developments, and how they intersect with his reality. He envisions this as complementary to the very intuitive creative processes he arrives at.
Chukwuemeka moved from Nigeria in 2016 to study architecture at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and went on to pursue his MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, including at the Community College of Baltimore County, in a solo exhibition, Inside the Cadmus, at Catonsville Gallery, and in a solo show at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center in Baltimore, Maryland. A selection of his group exhibitions include CulturalDC and VillageOneArt. His work has additionally been acquired by Gordon Feinblatt LLC, one of Baltimore’s premier law firms, and he has been featured in a Nigerian news publication and in Vanguard News upon the opening of his solo show at the Baltimore Community College.
