Xiangni Song

Xiangni Song is an artist based in Beijing and New York whose practice is rooted in daily observation and personal experience. Initially trained in illustration at the School of Visual Arts in 2016, she went on to pursue a transition from illustration to fine art, enrolling in the MFA Fine Arts program at Pratt Institute in 2020. Working across two-dimensional media and sculpture, with a primary focus on painting, drawing, and ceramics, Song builds a visual language that sits between the observed world and the interior one, consistently exploring themes of identity, self-observation, and imagination.

Song’s solo exhibition Incidentals was presented at VillageOneArt, New York, in 2026, gathering recent paintings and works on paper into a diaristic survey of everyday life rendered with quiet fantasy. Her work has been the subject of a review in Whitehot Magazine and an Insight story by CanvasRebel.
